1836-1910 Winslow Homer Locations Winslow Homer (February 24, 1836 ?C September 29, 1910) was an American landscape painter and printmaker, best known for his marine subjects. He is considered one of the foremost painters in 19th century America and a preeminent figure in American art. Largely self-taught, Homer began his career working as a commercial illustrator. He subsequently took up oil painting and produced major studio works characterized by the weight and density he exploited from the medium. (efter 1912 Alfven), född Triepcke 11 juni 1867 i Köpenhamn, död 25 maj 1940 i Stockholm, var en dansk konstnär, bosatt i Sverige från cirka 1905. Marie Krøyer var 1889-1905 gift med konstnären Peder Severin Krøyer och hamnade i skuggan av hans konstnärskap. Själv kom hon att uppmärksammas som konstnär långt efter sin död. Hon levde ihop med den svenske tonsättaren Hugo Alfv??n från 1905 då de fick dottern Margita tillsammans; de gifte sig 1912 och skildes 1936 efter en lång rättsprocess. Paret var bosatta i Uppsala och Leksand. Marie hade också dottern Vibeke med Krøyer.
Cornelis de Man
(Delft, 1 July 1621 - Delft, 1 September 1706) was a Dutch Golden Age painter. Kornelis was not satisfied with life in Delft. He wanted to travel beyond the port of Dordrecht and that is what he did, spending a year in Paris as soon as he came of age and had enough talent to pay his way with his painting skills. He was well-received, but set off in the Spring for Lyon in order to cross Lombardia and the mountains before another winter set in. He settled for two years in Florence, where he had a rich patron, but stayed the longest in Rome. On the way back home he stopped in Venice, and in the end was gone for a total of nine years
